Honeymoon Bridge

     This  week, I will release the last article about my topic. In terms of my learning experience, I still want to introduce the things related to Bridge. Thus, I would like to talk about "Honeymoon Bridge" this time, because it is the best game for lovers.

     Everyone must be curious about why I say this is the best game for lovers. Just as the name mentioned above, it's because this is the game for only two players, and lovers can design some creative punishments for losers.

     So, how do we play this game? First, everyone possesses thirteen cards. Players have to bid to decide the trump by cards in hands before next process. In the next process, it's dominated by your luck. Except the cards on hands, there are still 26 cards. This means every player has 13 chances to change the cards. First, deal the first card of 26 cards, and every player can see it. And now, players can decide whether they need this card, and compete with the card on hands. 

Ex. the cards be dealt is spade A, and both of players want it. Therefore, the first player plays spade J,and the other plays spade K. In this round, the latter player get spade A, and J.K is excluded from this game. However, in order to balance the number of cards on hands, the loser can get the first card of 25 cards, so both players still have 13 cards. This competition is not only related to luck, but also related to how many percentage of success that you can get the cards you want and how can you sacrifice.

     After the process of changing cards, players get into the last process as usual Bridge. In the 13 cards, players have to get the assigned tricks according to their bid. In this process, memory is every player's most powerful army. By memorizing the last process, players can know the cards rival possesses to get the best consequence.

     This game can be easy enough for lovers to better their relationship, but it can be difficult enough for players to compete in the whole game. Hope everyone enjoys this game.

The Bloody Ninety-Nine

     This week I would like to introduce the last game in the bloody series. It's Bloody Ninety-Nine. This game is created by my classmates in senior high school. Let's welcome to this creative and exciting game.
     As usual, I will talk about the normal version first. Every player has five cards first, and everyone gain a card after play a card. Thus, the cards in hand will be always five. Everyone has to play the cards in turn usually.
     First, I want to introduce the functional cards. 4 is return, the sequence to play the cards will be opposite. 5 is appointment, the player plays this card can appoint another player to play the card. 10 is to add or minus 10 points. J is pause, the player can take a rest this turn. Q is to add or minus 20 points. K let the points become 99 instantly. Then the other cards represent points, the number is the points, and the points in a game accumulate until the game come to an end. The limit of the point is 99, so everyone has to complete under this limit.
     In the special version, A is changing the cards in hands with next player, and 2 is that the next player plays two cards, and 7 is get a card from another player. Following this rule, you will find the cards in hands will not be always 5. It maybe 6.5.4... or even 0, and 0 means you are out of the game. This give the player another experience of the 99, it's more excited than normal version. Hope you enjoy this game.
   

Minibridge- the kindergarten of Bridge

     In Bridge, to make people play this game easier, there is a way called minibridge. In this way to play Bridge, the players don't have to worry about the complicated bidding system but to concentrate on the playing skill.(主打技巧)

     First, as the last article, each player has to calculate the points of cards.In 52 poker cards, there are only 40 points, so the pair(組合、隊友)who gets over 20 points is supposed the pair who is dominated in this game. Therefore, they have the right to decide what is the trump of this game, and don't have to bid with the other pair. Second,the pair has the lower points is called defender.The players of the pair with higher points will get the identity respectively.The one with higher points is called declarer(莊家), and the other one is called dummy(夢家).These three identities have their different responsibility in the game.

     The dummy, just as the name said, he/she will be silent in this game and he/she has to lay the cards on the table that all the other players can see.
     The declarer has the right to decide the contract, the trumps and how many tricks they have to get. He/she will consider the cards he/she possess and the cards of dummy to decide the contract.
     The defender, just as the name said, they have to prevent the declarer from winning the game.They can consider their cards,the dummy's cards, and the defensive signal(防守信號) from the teammate to conduct the greatest defensive strategy.

     The rest is as normal as the other bridge. Minibridge is the way to sharpen the playing skill. It simplifies the complicated bidding system, and this can shorten the time of the game, and make the player only focus on playing and defensive skill. I think it's a good pattern for everyone

The basic skill and concept of Bridge

     This week I want to teach everyone some basic concept and skill of Bridge. I have seen lots of people play Bridge, but they have played the cards casually, and I think this is not the way to better your skill. Therefore, I want to give everyone some concept.

     In Bridge, we have a way to evaluate our cards, so that we can get the correct contract. A is 4 point；K is 3 points；Q is 2 points；J is only a point. We can browse the 13 cards on our hands, and calculate how many points we have. Normally, you can bid if you have 5 cards in a suit and 10 points. If your partner have bidden, you can response(答叫) in 8 points and at least 4 cards in a suit. I think this is a good tip for people to standardize their bid, so that both you and your partner won't overestimate or underestimate the value of your cards. And another tip is that when we are bidding, we tend to get the lower contract, so you can consider your points and the bidding of the other 3 players to get the best contract.

   
     Let us talk about the skill in playing. The one important rule I think everyone should now is that "the second player to play the card should play the small card." By this, first, you can avoid play two big cards in a round with your partner. Second, you can avoid finesse(偷牌) of your rival. I have seen lots of tragedy about this, and they lost the opportunity to win.

     So you must perplex what is finesse. This is the way to give you a trick in 50 percent. Suppose you are the first player in this round, you have Heart A.10.7, and you play the small one. The second player possess Heart K.9.8, and he must hesitate to play K, because he afraid the next player own A,and his K will be wasted. If he doesn't play K , and your partner's Q can get this trick. It's better than play the A first, and K will absolutely get a trick.

The basic rules of Bridge

     This week I will stop talking about the "bloody series", because the last one I think it's so amazing that I want to put off to introduce. Nonetheless, this week I will start to talk about my expertise - Bridge to let everyone know more about it.

   
     Bridge is the game played by four players, and the one who sits opposite to you will be your partner, you two have to work hard together to win the game.In Bridge, suits(花色) are   respective.There is no domination of the suits. Every player will get 13 cards before the game, and everyone has to play only one card in a round, so there are 13 rounds in a game. Each time we win the round then we say we get one "trick". We will win the game if the tricks we get exceed the condition.

     Before we start the game, we have to choose the trump(王牌) and the contract. We call this action - Bid(叫牌). Everyone can choose a trump and set the condition to win the game in turns. There are 5 kinds of trump in the bridge. Spade. heart. diamond. club and the special one "no trump"(無王). Contract means how many tricks we should get to win this game.

For example: if we say 1 Heart , it means that heart is the trump and we should get 6+1 tricks.
                    if we say 3 spade . it means the spade is the trump and we should get 6+3 tricks.

     And now, you must doubt what is the "trump". As I said before, the suits in Bridge are respective. In each round, we should play the card with the suit same as the first card. Everyone should follow this rule only when you are short of that suit, and now you only have to play the card with another suit.

ex. The trump is spade. You are short of club. The other player play the card. Club K、7 and your partner only play Club 3. You are the last one in this round. If you play heart or diamond. No matter what number you play, it will always be the smaller one in this round. Like Heart A，you can't we this round . However , if you play the trump now , no matter how small you play , you can also get this trick. Like you play the Spade 2 , even 2 is smaller than K , because it's trump , you can get the trick.

The game reflecting the cruelty of the world - bloody big two

     The influence of the history can be found in our daily lives easily. 

The game today I want to introduce is an excellent example. Class conflict (階級鬥爭) big two is the way to let you experience the oppression between the ancient classes. 

     This is the advanced version of the big two. Each player can get a status after the first game. The winner is the king,  the second one is the nobility , and the third one will be the people,but the loser is destined to be slave.  After the cards are dealt , the player can use their privilege matching their status except for poor slave.

     

     The king has the chance to change the card with each player once.First, king can get a card from one player, and king can choose the card whatever he likes in his hands to give to the player.This will  maintain the king's dominance, so the king has more opportunity to win the game. The nobility also has the privilege to switch the card with the other two lower status player .The people can just change with the slave a time. Therefore, the game starts in a uneven way.The higher the status is, the more opportunity they can win. 

     The status will change after every game, the slave and people still have the chance to better their lives. Howerer, just like the history, the cruelty is often happening while the government is destroyed. The special rule in this game is that when the king is not the winner as usual then the king will become the slave to struggle, and the other status will raise up.

     I think this game will be a bad experience if you are always in the lower status.However, the high status also is afraid of losing their dominance,especially for the king. Every player has their own tragedy, and every player has to do their best in their status, I think this is the profound meaning that the creator want to express.
